Flywire Corporation (NASDAQ: FLYW) appointed Nicole James as chief people officer, effective November 4. James will report to CEO Mike Massaro and lead the company's global human resources function, including people operations, total rewards, workplace experience and talent acquisition and development.
James joins Flywire from Credit Karma, where she served as chief people officer and led the people function during a period of growth and transformation. She previously held the same role at Unite Us, where she streamlined people operations and realigned leadership structures for the health-tech company.
Before that, James worked at Square, where she served as global head of people for the Square business unit and scaled its people team during rapid growth. She also led multiple global expansion ventures in the Americas, Asia-Pacific and Europe through organic growth and mergers and acquisitions.
James holds a bachelor's degree in economics from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from IE Business School in Madrid.
"With a proven track record of driving digital transformation and scaling people functions for fast-growing, multinational corporations, Nicole's experience aligns perfectly with Flywire's strategic priorities," Massaro said in a statement.
Flywire operates as a global payments enablement and software company, serving more than 4,800 clients with payment methods in more than 140 currencies across more than 240 countries and territories. The Boston-based company focuses on education, healthcare and travel vertical markets, as well as business-to-business industries.
