Flatiron Health announced the appointment of Nathan Hubbard as chief executive officer, succeeding Carolyn Starrett who will transition to a senior advisor role.

Hubbard brings over 20 years of leadership experience across biopharma, healthcare and data-driven businesses to the role. He has served in multiple senior leadership positions at Flatiron for five years, where he built the company's international business and expanded partnerships with biopharma companies.

Starrett, who joined Flatiron in 2016 and served as CEO since 2021, led significant expansion during her tenure. Under her leadership, the company's real-world data platform Flatiron Horizon grew from 400,000 to more than 5.5 million patients. The company's research network expanded to over 30 sites across the United Kingdom, Germany and Japan.

Flatiron's electronic health record system OncoEMR now serves over 4,500 providers across the United States. The company's real-world data has supported more than 1,800 publications. The company nearly doubled its revenue run rate during Starrett's tenure as CEO.

"Nathan's combination of entrepreneurial drive, operational depth, and strong alignment with Flatiron's mission makes him the right leader to carry the business forward," said Thomas Schinecker, CEO of Roche, in a statement.

Flatiron Health is a healthcare technology company focused on oncology solutions and is an independent affiliate of the Roche Group. The company uses machine learning and artificial intelligence to develop real-world evidence for cancer research and care.
