Experian launches insurance marketplace app on ChatGPT platform

February 12, 2026 11:19 AM EST

Experian (LSE: EXPN) announced the launch of its insurance marketplace app on ChatGPT, bringing auto insurance comparison services to OpenAI's user base. The app allows users to compare estimated rates from more than 37 insurance carriers through conversational interactions within the ChatGPT platform.

The application enables users to review coverage options and ask follow-up questions in real time. Users can begin exploring price comparisons by entering their ZIP code, and those seeking personalized quotes are redirected to Experian's website to complete the process.

"Consumers are increasingly using conversational AI to learn, ask questions, explore and solve meaningful financial challenges," said Dacy Yee, President of Experian Consumer Services. "Making our insurance marketplace available through ChatGPT allows people to evaluate their choices naturally."

The company claims customers who switched policies saved an average of $1,007 annually on auto insurance, though results vary and some users may not see savings. These figures are based on customers who switched policies between May 2024 and April 2025 and self-reported their prior premiums.

Experian operates the service through its licensed subsidiary, Gabi Personal Insurance Agency, Inc., which provides access to insurance products from multiple carriers. Availability and savings vary by state, and final premiums depend on selected policy, carrier, and coverage options.

The Costa Mesa, California-based company stated this launch represents part of its broader AI strategy. Experian plans to introduce additional personalization features and expects to expand conversational AI experiences across other platforms.

The information is based on a company press release statement.
