Eutelsat signs multi-year deal with Tusass for Greenland LEO connectivity

Eutelsat (Euronext Paris / London Stock Exchange: ETL) announced a strategic multi-year agreement with Tusass, Greenland's national telecommunications provider, to deliver low Earth orbit connectivity across the territory.

The partnership will utilize Eutelsat's OneWeb satellite network to provide connectivity services for community broadband, maritime operations, mobility services, and emergency response systems throughout Greenland. The agreement aims to address connectivity challenges in areas lacking terrestrial infrastructure.

OneWeb satellites operate in polar orbit, providing high-latitude coverage designed for Arctic conditions. The network consists of more than 600 LEO satellites as part of Eutelsat's integrated satellite fleet.

"Critical infrastructure has become a key focus area across Europe, and we are delighted to continue our work with Tusass to support its efforts in connecting remote communities, backbone infrastructure, and enabling essential services such as rescue operations and maritime security and safety," said Cyril Dujardin, President of the Connectivity Business Unit at Eutelsat.

Eutelsat operates 34 geostationary satellites alongside its LEO constellation following its 2023 combination with OneWeb. The company distributes approximately 6,400 television channels and serves mobile connectivity, fixed connectivity, and government services markets.
