Eutelsat names Eric Labaye as new chairman, succeeds D'Hinnin
Eutelsat Communications (Euronext Paris/London Stock Exchange: ETL) appointed Eric Labaye as chairman of its board of directors, effective August 4, 2025, according to a company statement.
Labaye succeeds Dominique D'Hinnin, who announced in February his decision not to seek renewal of his mandate. The board approved Labaye's co-optation as a board member and his appointment as chairman of both Eutelsat Communications and Eutelsat SA.
The satellite communications company also announced several other board changes. Michel Combes resigned effective August 3, 2025, while Lucia Sinapi-Thomas was co-opted as an independent board member. The board acknowledged the appointment of Guillemette Kreis as the French State representative from Agence des Participations de l'Etat.
Following these changes, Eutelsat's board comprises 10 members, including six independent directors and five women, representing 50% gender representation.
Labaye brings over 30 years of experience in telecommunications, high-tech and industrial sectors. He currently serves as president and co-founder of IDEL Partners, an advisory firm, and chairman of the supervisory board of AI solutions company Ekimetrics. From 2018 to 2023, he served as chairman and president of École Polytechnique and Institut Polytechnique de Paris.
Previously, Labaye was a senior partner at McKinsey & Company, where he held various leadership roles including managing director of the French office from 2002-2010 and chairman of the McKinsey Global Institute from 2010-2016.
Sinapi-Thomas brings over 20 years of experience at Capgemini, where she currently serves as executive director of Capgemini Ventures. She holds board positions at several companies including Capgemini SE and Dassault Aviation.
Kreis serves as director of shareholdings for services and finance at Agence des participations de l'État, part of France's Ministry for the Economy, Finance and Industrial and Digital Sovereignty.
