Enovix adds semiconductor veteran McCranie to board of directors

Enovix Corporation (NASDAQ: ENVX) appointed J. Daniel McCranie to its board of directors effective August 12, 2025, expanding the board to eight directors with six independent members, according to a company statement.



McCranie brings over 30 years of experience in semiconductor and technology sector leadership. He previously served as Chairman of the Board at onsemi after joining its board in 2001 and being elected chairman in 2002. He also held the position of Non-Executive Chairman at Freescale Semiconductor and served in chair and director roles at 10 technology companies including Cadence, Virage Logic, Actel, Xicor, California Micro Devices, Mentor Graphics, and Cypress Semiconductor.



McCranie currently serves as a director of SunPower Corporation, where he chairs the Compensation Committee and holds the position of Executive Vice President of Sales. At Cypress Semiconductor, he previously served as Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing.



"Dan is a high-impact operator and board leader with deep experience scaling complex technology businesses," said Raj Talluri, President and Chief Executive Officer of Enovix. "His track record at onsemi and other global semiconductor companies adds immediate strength to our board as we expand commercialization and manufacturing."



McCranie stated he was excited to join Enovix at what he described as a pivotal moment, citing the company's silicon-anode architecture and manufacturing approach as positioning factors for performance improvements.



Enovix develops lithium-ion battery technology with silicon-anode batteries designed for applications ranging from wearable electronics to electric vehicles. The company is headquartered in Silicon Valley with facilities in India, South Korea and Malaysia.
