EXL (NASDAQ: EXLS) and Schneider National Inc. (NYSE: SNDR) announced results from a digital transformation initiative that reduced appointment scheduling time by more than 50% and cut costs by 24% in trucking logistics operations.
The collaboration deployed data and AI technologies to automate manual processes in appointment scheduling workflows. The trucking industry previously averaged three days from load creation to appointment confirmation, according to the companies' joint statement.
The implementation includes a cloud-native solution that operates 24/7 and provides near-real-time appointment scheduling. The system digitized processes from intake and processing through reporting.
"Embracing digital transformation is key to our mission of providing solutions for our customer and drivers," said Mike Kukiela, senior vice president of operations supply chain and distribution management at Schneider. "Our collaboration with EXL has delivered measurable impact and set a new benchmark of excellence."
The initiative targeted inefficiencies caused by manual processes and frequent handoffs that created delays in logistics operations. The automated system aims to enhance experiences for both customers and drivers through faster processing times.
"Working with Schneider allowed us to bring our expertise in data and AI to a critical industry," said Narasimha Kini, executive vice president of banking and capital markets and diversified industries at EXL.
EXL provides data and AI services globally, with approximately 61,000 employees across six continents. Schneider National operates as a multimodal transportation, intermodal and logistics services provider.
