DENTSPLY SIRONA names Daniel Scavilla as CEO, reports Q2 results

DENTSPLY SIRONA Inc. (NASDAQ: XRAY) appointed Daniel Scavilla as president and chief executive officer, effective August 1, 2025. Scavilla succeeds Simon Campion, who will leave the company on July 31, 2025.

Scavilla previously served as president and CEO of Globus Medical, where he led the acquisition of NuVasive and oversaw the integration to create what the company describes as the second largest spine technology company. Prior to Globus Medical, he spent 28 years in financial and operational leadership roles at Johnson & Johnson. Scavilla joined the DENTSPLY SIRONA board of directors in February 2025.

The dental products manufacturer also provided preliminary second quarter 2025 results, expecting net sales of approximately $935 million and adjusted earnings per diluted share between $0.50 and $0.52. The company reaffirmed its 2025 outlook provided in its May 8, 2025 earnings release.

Gregory T. Lucier, chairman of the board, said in a statement that Scavilla's appointment "underscores the Board's strong and unwavering commitment to delivering enhanced value to shareholders." Scavilla stated he gained "an even deeper appreciation for the enormous potential of our business, people and products" since joining the board.

In conjunction with the leadership transition, Campion stepped down from the DENTSPLY SIRONA board. Scavilla will continue serving as a director but will no longer serve on the board's Audit and Finance Committee.

The company plans to report complete financial results for the second quarter on August 7, 2025. DENTSPLY SIRONA manufactures professional dental products and technologies, with headquarters in Charlotte, North Carolina.
