Clearmind Medicine Inc. (NASDAQ: CMND) filed an Israeli patent application for a combination therapy targeting depression treatment. The application covers the use of 5-methoxy-2-aminoindane (MEAI) and N-Acylethanolamines, including Palmitoylethanolamide (PEA), according to a company statement.

The patent filing resulted from Clearmind's collaboration with Neurothera Labs Inc. (TSXV: NTLX), a subsidiary of SciSparc Ltd. (NASDAQ: SPRC). The World Health Organization reports that major depressive disorder affects more than 280 million people worldwide.

"This patent application marks another important milestone in our mission to develop novel, science-backed solutions for some of the world's most challenging mental health conditions," said Adi Zuloff-Shani, CEO of Clearmind Medicine. "We believe that our work with Neurothera continues to generate promising therapeutic pathways, and this new filing further strengthens our IP position as we advance MEAI-based treatments toward clinical development."

The filing expands Clearmind's intellectual property portfolio. The company has filed 13 patents related to its collaboration with Neurothera, focusing on MEAI and N-Acylethanolamines combinations for conditions including alcohol use disorder, cocaine addiction, obesity and depression. Preclinical data shows MEAI's effects in mitigating addictive behaviors while preserving natural reward pathways.

Clearmind's intellectual portfolio consists of 19 patent families including 31 granted patents. The clinical-stage biotech company focuses on developing psychedelic-derived therapeutics for health problems including alcohol use disorder.

Shares of Clearmind trade on NASDAQ under the symbol CMND and the Frankfurt Stock Exchange under CWY0.
