CGI Inc. (TSX: GIB.A) (NYSE: GIB) announced a strategic partnership agreement with Finnish retail services company Kesko to provide digital transformation services. The partnership encompasses end-user services, capacity and cloud services, and integrations for Kesko's K Group retail network.
Under the agreement, CGI will support digital development initiatives across the K Group retail network. The services include automation and artificial intelligence-based solutions aimed at business renewal and productivity improvements.
"K Group's goal is to be a forerunner in digital services within the retail sector," said Arto Hiltunen, CIO at Kesko. "The development of automation and AI-based solutions plays a significant role in renewing our business and improving productivity."
Leena-Mari Lähteenmaa, President of CGI Finland, Poland and Baltics, described the arrangement as a partnership where achievement of strategic goals will be guided by joint metrics and investments.
The partnership was established through a competitive bidding process where Kesko sought a partner to support business growth using current technologies. CGI's international expertise and local presence were factors in the selection decision, according to the company announcement.
CGI, founded in 1976, operates as an IT and business consulting services firm with 93,000 consultants and professionals globally. The company reported fiscal 2024 revenue of CA$14.68 billion.
