Butter Payments announced the appointment of Sonali Sambhus as Chief Technology Officer as the company works to scale its machine learning-driven payments recovery platform.

Sambhus joins Butter following recent leadership additions including Sofya Pogreb as Chief Executive Officer and Charles Rosenblatt as Chief Commercial Officer, according to a company statement.

Sambhus previously led the Developer & ML Platform at Block, Inc. (NYSE: SQ) and held executive roles at Realtor.com and Vuclip, Inc. She co-founded data analytics startup 10jumps Inc., which was acquired by Saggezza Inc., and served on the board of directors at AvidXchange (NASDAQ: AVDX).

"Sonali's deep technical expertise and proven leadership in scaling intelligent platforms will play a critical role in Butter's next phase of innovation," said Pogreb.

Butter's platform uses machine learning models to predict and prevent failed payments in the subscription industry. The company states that failed payments cost the subscription industry over $440 billion in lost revenue annually.

The platform analyzes behavioral, transactional, and network data to help clients recover lost revenue and reduce churn. Butter's client base includes Cerebral, FuturHealth, The Athletic, and Athena Club.

"Butter's ML-driven approach is reshaping how subscription businesses recover lost revenue," said Sambhus.
