Breakthrough Properties announced a partnership with Eli Lilly and Company (NYSE: LLY) to launch Lilly Gateway Labs at 2300 Market Street in Philadelphia. The facility will provide biotech companies with move-in ready laboratory space and equipment.
The lab space spans 44,000 square feet across the first and second floors of the building. The facility includes cold storage, centrifuges, autoclave equipment, and on-site staff services including concierge, lab operations, and dock management.
Companies using the facility will have access to Breakthrough's Scientific Advisory Board and Lilly scientists and executives for strategic guidance. The space offers customizable plans with flexible lease terms and predictable pricing for services.
Breakthrough Properties, a joint venture between Tishman Speyer and Bellco Capital, developed the eight-story, 225,000-square-foot building at 2300 Market. Legend Biotech (NASDAQ: LEGN) previously selected the building for its cell therapy research facility.
The building is located near the University of Pennsylvania and Drexel University, with access to public transportation through 30th Street Station. Tenants will have access to building amenities including a café operated by Alchemy Coffee, conferencing space, and a fitness center.
"Our partnership with Lilly Gateway Labs at 2300 Market will facilitate and accelerate the emergence of the next generation of great Philadelphia life science companies," said Daniel D'Orazi, chief investment officer at Breakthrough Properties.
The building was designed by Philadelphia-based architecture studio KieranTimberlake. The information is based on a company press release.
