BlackRock plans to launch nine new iBonds ETFs by April 2026

March 5, 2026 9:01 AM EST

BlackRock announced plans to expand its iShares iBonds ETF platform with nine new funds targeting various fixed income sectors. The company intends to launch the funds before the end of April 2026.

The new ETFs will cover U.S. Treasuries, Treasury Inflation-Protected Securities (TIPS), investment grade corporate bonds, high yield bonds, and municipal bonds with maturity dates ranging from 2032 to 2056. BlackRock currently manages $52 billion in iBonds ETFs across 75 active funds.

The planned funds include three Treasury ETFs with 2036, 2046, and 2056 maturity dates that will trade on Nasdaq under tickers IBTR, IBGC, and IBGM respectively. A 2036 TIPS ETF (NYSE Arca: IBIM) and a 2036 corporate bond ETF (NYSE Arca: IBCB) are also planned.

Four municipal bond ETFs targeting 2032, 2033, and 2034 maturities will trade on Cboe under tickers IBMU, IBMV, and IBMW. A 2033 high yield and income ETF (Cboe: IBHM) rounds out the new offerings.

"iBonds ETFs can make bond laddering easier and more efficient — allowing investors to build and manage ladders with just a few ETFs instead of sourcing and monitoring dozens of individual bonds," said Elise Terry, Head of U.S. iShares at BlackRock.

The iBonds ETFs hold bonds with matching maturity dates and are designed to provide regular interest payments before distributing a final payout in their stated maturity year. BlackRock launched its first iBonds ETFs in 2010 and has introduced over 120 funds in the series.

Registration statements for the funds became effective as of March 5 but shares are not yet available for trading, according to the company's statement.
