Berkshire Hathaway names Charles Chang as new CFO

Berkshire Hathaway Inc. (NYSE: BRK-A) announced that Charles Chang will succeed Marc Hamburg as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer effective June 1, 2026.
Hamburg, the current CFO, will retire from Berkshire on June 1, 2027. He will step down from his CFO role on June 1, 2026, and work with Chang for one year to ensure a transition, according to the company's December 8 announcement.
Chang, 57, currently serves as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at Berkshire Hathaway Energy, a position he has held since joining the subsidiary on October 1, 2024. Before joining Berkshire Hathaway Energy, Chang worked as a partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers starting in 2002.
The company stated that Chang has no family relationships with any of Berkshire's directors or executive officers. Since joining Berkshire Hathaway Energy, no transactions between Chang and Berkshire have exceeded $120,000 in which Chang held a material financial interest.
