BTQ Technologies achieves first quantum-safe signature verification on Solana
BTQ Technologies Corp. (NASDAQ: BTQ) announced it successfully demonstrated the first NIST-standardized post-quantum cryptography signature verification on the Solana blockchain. The milestone was achieved through a partnership with Bonsol Labs' verifiable computation network.
The implementation addresses computational constraints that arise from post-quantum cryptography signatures, which are over 50 times larger than current ECDSA signatures used by blockchain networks. BTQ's solution utilizes Bonsol's network to perform computationally intensive operations off-chain while maintaining cryptographic verification on-chain.
The demonstration implements ML-DSA (Module Lattice Digital Signature Algorithm), which conforms to the NIST FIPS 204 standard for digital signatures. This approach allows Solana to maintain its transaction processing speeds while adding quantum resistance.
Solana processes over $1 trillion in annual decentralized exchange volume and has attracted institutional adoption from Franklin Templeton, which plans to launch its OnChain U.S. Government Money Fund on the network, and Visa, which selected Solana for stablecoin settlement pilots.
"Today's demonstration represents a fundamental breakthrough in securing blockchain infrastructure against quantum threats," said Olivier Roussy Newton, CEO of BTQ Technologies. "By successfully implementing NIST-standardized PQC on Solana, the network processing the majority of decentralized exchange volume, we're not just solving a technical challenge but enabling the quantum-safe evolution of internet capital markets."
BTQ's Quantum Compute-in-Memory hardware is designed to accelerate both post-quantum cryptography algorithms and Bonsol's proving network computations. The partnership creates a commercialization path through integration with Solana's infrastructure, with potential to capture transaction fees for quantum-secure operations.
