Asante Gold appoints Glenn Baldwin as chief development officer
Asante Gold Corporation (TSX.V: ASE) announced the appointment of Glenn Baldwin as Chief Development Officer, according to a company press release.
Baldwin brings over 30 years of international mining experience across enterprise development, operations and strategic leadership. He has held senior executive roles in Africa, the Middle East, Asia, Australia and South America.
Baldwin joins Asante from BGN International, where he served as Head of Mining, establishing a new mining business for the company's expansion into critical minerals. He previously served as Chief Executive Officer of several mining companies, including Consolidated Minerals in Ghana and Yilmaden Holding, with operations across more than a dozen countries.
Earlier in his career, Baldwin held senior roles at Gold Fields, where he oversaw 1.7 million ounces of annual gold production across a global portfolio, served as Chief Operating Officer of Ivanhoe Nickel & Platinum, and held technical and development positions at Anglo American and Ma'aden Gold & Base Metals.
As Chief Development Officer, Baldwin will be based in Ghana and will focus on operational improvements at the company's Bibiani and Chirano mines. The company stated that consistent, predictable production is its immediate priority. Baldwin will also advance the Kubi project toward production and lead Asante's growth agenda over time.
"We are delighted to welcome Glenn to Asante. His appointment strengthens our leadership at exactly the right time," said Malik Easah, Executive Chairman of Asante.
