Arkema (Paris: AKE) has appointed Laurent Peyronneau as executive vice president of its Adhesive Solutions segment, known as Bostik, and member of the company's executive committee.

Peyronneau, a materials science engineer, brings extensive experience in the adhesives industry and has held leadership positions at Arkema in chemical specialties, particularly within the Coating Solutions segment.

He replaces Vincent Legros, who is leaving the group after nine years leading the Adhesive Solutions segment. During Legros's tenure, the segment doubled in size, expanded internationally and improved its operating margin, according to the company.

Peyronneau graduated from École Centrale de Lyon and initially worked at TotalEnergies' chemical activities in coatings. After leading Cray Valley in South Korea in 2006, he joined Bostik in 2010, where he held executive roles in Asia and globally before becoming Executive Secretary General of Bostik. In 2017, he moved to Arkema as Managing Director of Coatex, before being appointed Director of Coating Additives in 2020.

Bostik employs over 7,000 people across more than 50 countries and generates annual sales of €2.7 billion. The company operates as a specialty adhesives and sealants provider for industrial, construction and consumer markets.

Arkema reported sales of approximately €9.5 billion in 2024 and operates in 55 countries with 21,150 employees worldwide. The company is structured into three specialty materials segments - Adhesive Solutions, Advanced Materials, and Coating Solutions - which accounted for 92% of group sales in 2024, plus an Intermediates segment.
