AMD (NASDAQ: AMD) and Nutanix (NASDAQ: NTNX) announced a multi-year strategic partnership to develop an open AI infrastructure platform for enterprise applications. Under the agreement, AMD will invest $150 million in Nutanix common stock at $36.26 per share and provide up to $100 million in additional funding for joint engineering and marketing initiatives.

The partnership aims to integrate AMD's ROCm software and Enterprise AI platform with Nutanix's Cloud Platform and Kubernetes Platform. The combined solution will utilize AMD EPYC CPUs and Instinct GPUs to support AI applications across data center, hybrid and edge environments.

The equity investment is expected to close in the second quarter of 2026, subject to regulatory approvals and standard closing conditions. The companies plan to launch their first jointly-developed AI platform in late 2026.

"Enterprise customers need the freedom to run the models and workloads that matter most to their business, without compromise," said Dan McNamara, senior vice president and general manager of Compute and Enterprise AI at AMD.

Tarkan Maner, President and Chief Commercial Officer at Nutanix, stated the partnership reflects "a shared vision for scalable, production-ready AI infrastructure."

The collaboration will focus on developing infrastructure for AI inference workloads and enterprise AI agents. The platform is designed to allow enterprises to deploy open-source and commercial AI models without relying on integrated AI stacks from single vendors.

Both companies emphasized their commitment to open ecosystem standards for AI infrastructure. The partnership includes support from OEM server providers to deliver the integrated solutions to market.
