Susquehanna analyst Jamie Friedman raised the price target on PayPal (NASDAQ: PYPL) to $101.00 (from $94.00) while maintaining a Positive rating.
The analyst commented: "Following three consecutive quarters of "beat and raises" for TM$, Susquehanna attempts to decompose the factors behind the gradual and consistent acceleration. Items that repeatedly surface in disclosures include (in order of estimated YTD contribution): 1) interest income from customer balances, 2) Branded Checkout, 3) Braintree, 4) Venmo, and 5) favorable credit/transaction loss performance. Susquehanna believes some of these factors to be more sustainable than others, and on net, we estimate TM$ growth in 2025 may decelerate to 3% vs. the 6.9% in the first nine months of 2024. Further out in the medium term, we believe PYPL should be able to sustain mid-single-digit TM$ growth mid-cycle backed by potential high-single-digit revenue growth (Figure 1). We are raising our earnings estimates, driven by a variety of profitability tailwinds, and our price target increases to $101. We remain Positive rated."
