UBS analyst Lucas Beaumont lowered the price target on Mosaic (NYSE: MOS) to $40.00 (from $44.00) while maintaining a Buy rating.
The analyst commented, "At MOS' current trading multiple of ~5.1x (which is below the ~6.5x med-term/10yr average on above mid-cycle earnings in phosphates), the market is pricing in $2.25B in 2026 EBITDA inclusive of the $6/sh SAU value. The $2.25B in EBITDA would appear to imply only $0.8B in phosphates EBITDA in 2026. To hit this level we'd need to see no improvement in phosphate volumes above ~6.3mmts, similarly weak fixed cost absorption and would still allow for a $45-$50/MT decline in pricing. Our 2026 EBITDA estimate of $2.97B is 32% above these levels, but is predicated on an improving production outlook and a ~$70-$80/MT decline in phosphate prices."
