Stifel analyst Paul Matteis reiterated a Buy rating and $29.00 price target on Contineum Therapeutics (NASDAQ: CTNM)
The analyst commented, "We remain Buy rated on CTNM following an in-line 4Q recap, where their lead program, PIPE-791 in IPF, has initiated dosing in their global ph2 study. Though IPF has historically been challenging, we think there's strong biological rationale behind the LPA1R mechanism, following success in three distinct clinical studies with BMY's LPA1R antagonists. We expect the ph3 readout for BMY's admilparant (same MOA) in 4Q26 to be a significant catalyst for the stock, as positive results could meaningfully de-risk CTNM's IPF program. And while '791 is further behind, CTNM is confident there is opportunities to differentiate based on cleaner safety, better PK/PD for '791 and QD dosing. Meanwhile, '791 is also being explored in a ph1b study for chronic osteoarthritis pain expected to readout in 2Q26 while JNJ-partnered '307 in MDD continue to make progress, though admilparant and '791 IPF data remain most important for the stock."
