Wedbush analyst, Tao Levy, reiterated his Outperform rating on shares of NovoCure Ltd. (NASDAQ: NVCR) after a KOL call with a leading neuro-oncologist.
The analyst hosted a call with Dr. Richard Peterson to discuss his latest perspectives on Optune. Overall, the analyst came away with a better understanding of the opportunities and challenges surrounding the future adoption of this new treatment modality, and he believes Optune is better positioned to regain its momentum.
Key takeaways included:
1) the neuro-oncology community (clinicians and patients) is paying greater attention to the evolution of TTFields
2) clinicians who prescribe Optune are increasingly concerned of the ethical dilemma they face when enrolling patients into clinical trials of new drugs to treat GBM that exclude the use of Optune and this issue will be discussed at upcoming oncology meetings
3) more GBM patients and/or their caregivers are coming to Dr. Peterson’s clinic already armed with a basic understanding of Optune having conducted their own research to better understand all available treatment options.
No change to the price target of $20.
