Making a stock play on one of the new generations -- Y or Z, lets say -- is easy: tech. But what about the older generation of Boomers?
As Jim Cramer pointed out on Tuesday night's Mad Money, thanks to new technologies, knowledge of healthy living, and advancements in medicine, people are raising the average life expectancy. Cramer called the shift the "biggest demographic trend of the era."
The pundit believes Sunrise Senior Living (NYSE: SRZ) is a smart way to play this Boomer generation. He called the stock speculative but said it is "by far the best of breed" in the group. Cramer feels shares were unfairly hit amid the recent Medicare news. He also said the company is under covered by the Street: just one analyst at Stifel Nicolaus rates the stock.
Cramer talked with the CEO of the company, Mark Ordan. For more color on the exec's comments, watch the video clip below.
Shares of Sunrise are up more than 7 percent Wednesday morning.
