H.C. Wainwright analyst Patrick R. Trucchio reiterated a Buy rating and $10.00 price target on Sangamo BioSciences (NASDAQ: SGMO).
The analyst commented: "This morning, Sangamo announced top-line results from the Phase 1/2 STAAR trial evaluating isaralgagene civaparvovec (ST-920 or isa-vec), an adeno-associated virus (AAV2/6)-based alpha-galactosidase A (α-Gal A) gene therapy in adults with Fabry disease. Overall, we continue to view isa-vec as a potential best-in-class, one-time gene therapy for Fabry disease, supported by long-term α-Gal A expression, enzyme replacement therapy (ERT) discontinuation, renal function stabilization, and improvements in quality of life. Based on these positive data, Sangamo is preparing a Biologics License Application (BLA) for potential submission as early as 1Q26, which would support a commercial launch for the potential first-in-class gene therapy in 2H26. Importantly, we believe the STAAR data may accelerate the timeline to a potential partnership agreement, in our view. We reiterate our Buy rating and $10 price target on SGMO."
