H.C. Wainwright analyst Joseph Pantginis reiterated a Buy rating and $16.00 price target on Esperion Therapeutics (NASDAQ: ESPR).
The analyst commented: "Esperion announced the filing of new drug submissions (NDSs) with Health Canada for NEXLETOL and NEXLIZET on December 2. According to 2017-2018 data from the Canadian Chronic Disease Surveillance System (CCDSS), about 1 in 12 Canadian adults aged 20 and older (corresponding to around 2.6 million people) live with diagnosed heart disease. These statistics underscore the significant medical need and attractive market opportunity for Esperion’s therapies in Canada. Beyond Canada, Esperion continues to advance the global expansion of its BDA franchise, highlighting its international growth strategy. Key developments include: 1) Taiwan: Regulatory approval for partner Otsuka Pharmaceuticals (private) to market NILEMDO; 2) Japan: Otsuka plans to submit an NDA by YE24, with potential approval and pricing expected in 2025; and 3) Australia and Israel: Anticipated regulatory filings or partnerships in 1H25. These initiatives, combined with Esperion’s commitment to commercial development, demonstrate strong momentum for its BDA franchise. Reiterate Buy rating and $16 PT."
