Auto exposed semi players at risk of geopolitical headwinds, says Stifel
Clean energy project pipeline starts and stays strong till February says Stifel Stifel analyst Tore Svanberg released an industry report on the Americas - Analog, Connectivity and Processors sector, discussing the geopolitical headwinds following the 25% tariff on all cars made outside the US.
The analyst commented, “On Wednesday, March 26, President Donald Trump signed a proclamation invoking Section 232 of the Trade Expansion Act of 1962 to impose a 25% tariff on imports of automobiles and certain automobile parts. Charges on businesses importing automobiles are slated to begin on April 3rd, whereas charges on automobile parts are set to start no later than May 3rd. In our view, the announced tariffs will have a negative NT impact on the United States auto industry, as we believe potentially higher prices could impact overall demand. Below, we illustrate our covered companies’ end market exposure.”
