Ametek (AME) Gains as Value Investor Sinks His Teeth

Ametek (NYSE: AME) is creeping higher Monday as investors in the know discovered that SQ Advisors has built a new 1,802,037 share stake in the company in the second-quarter, according to its latest 13F filing.
For those not familiar with Naples, Florida-based SQ Advisors, it was founded and run by Lou Simpson, the former chief investment officer of Warren Buffett's Berkshire Geico subsidiary.
Notably, SQ Advisors bought Precision Castparts (NYSE: PCP) in the first quarter of 2015, months before it was acquired by Berkshire.
Shares of Ametek last traded at $57.35, up 1.2%.
