Activist investor Nelson Peltz is circling Time Warner (NYSE: TWX) and may push for changes, according to reports from the New York Post.
One clue that Peltz's is looking to become involved in the media space for the first time since 2006, is that his firm, Trian Partners, recently hired former DirectTV Chairman and CEO, Michael White, as a advisory partner.
If Peltz were to become involved he would join other activists, including Keith Meister's Corvex Capital and Dan Loeb's Third Point LLC.
Recently CEO Jeff Bewkes met with shareholders who are disgruntled about the company's decision in 2014 to rebuff 21st Century Fox's (NASDAQ: FOXA) $85/share bid for the company, which now sits handsomely above the current market price of $70/share. Recent rumors suggested Rupert Murdoch's Fox would come back with a bid, although the company has denied it.
